Natural Makeup & Skincare Brand Ere Perez Review

ere perez natural makeup

Today I’ve decided to finally review the natural makeup brand from down under (Australia): Ere Perez. I’ve been using these products for a few years now and they look nothing like the images I took for this blog post circa 2017. My eyeshadow palette has hit the pan on many of the colors and my bronzer and highlighter is half way used.

about the brand

Ere Perez’s eponymous brand is rooted in her Mexican heritage and based in Bondi Beach, Sydney. Having grown up with a medicine man as a grandfather, Ere was always passionate about natural beauty and healing and eventually created a natural line that’s luxurious, fuss-free, affordable, and all about healthy radiant skin.

While most luxury organic makeup brands take on black, metallic or colorful packaging, Ere Perez opts for a clean solid white look across the entire line. Not that there’s anything wrong with black or colored packaging, but I love the feeling I get when using their products – that they are truly pristine.

chamomile eyeshadow palette

My favorite product out of all that I tried is their Chamomile Eyeshadow Palette. It’s very compact and fits 6 shades, and I’ve taken it everywhere with me over the years because of the different looks I can create that take me from day to night. It may not be AS pigmented as my favorite NU Evolution eyeshadows, but it’s sufficient and it lasts well throughout the day.

falling star vanilla highlighter

I really love this natural cream highlighter and way more than I liked rms beauty’s Living Luminizer. There’s no greasy look from this and it gives skin a natural looking luminosity. I use this on the top of my cheekbones, down my nose and on my cupid’s bow. It has this delicious vanilla wafer scent that takes me back to my childhood and the holidays. This highlighter comes in two shades: falling star and sun halo which is more of a bronze highlighter.

Ingredients: Caprylic /capric triglyceride, hydrogenated olive (olea europaea) oil, candelilla (euphorbia cerifera) wax, cocoa (theobroma cacao) butter, ozokerite, avocado (persea gratissima) oil, grape (vitis vinifera) seed oil, vanilla (vanilla planifolia) extract, tocopheryl acetate (vitamin E). May contain: +/- iron oxides, CI 77019, CI 77891.

ere perez natural makeup bronzer

rice powder blush & bronzer

Made with non-GMO rice starch, this blush and bronzer duo is a multi-purpose product that can be used not only for its named purpose but also as eyeshadow and even lip color. I prefer using it as a bronzer and simply sweep my Ere Perez brush across both shades for a natural looking bronzed flush. If I just want a subtle bronze look I use just the lighter shade.

Ingredients: Mica, zinc stearate, squalane, aluminum starch octenylsuccinate, oryza sativa (rice) starch, magnesium carbonate, camomilla recutita (chamomile) extract, helianthus annuus (sunflower) seed oil, lauroyl lysine, glyceryl caprylate, p-anisic acid, chlorphenesin, tocopherol (vitamin e), tourmaline, manganese sulfate, calcium sulfate, tin oxide. May contain +/- iron oxides, CI 77891

Lip Bar in shade Love and Mango Lip Honey in shade Pop

wild pansy tinted lip bar

This lip bar is packaged as a traditional lipstick, but it’s actually a tinted sheer lip conditioner. I notice a subtle amount of color, but don’t expect anything near the power of lipstick. Before using it, I had this expectation that it would be very emollient and rich, but I was surprised to find that it was very dense and solid. It conditions lips, but it wasn’t intensely nourishing. The lip bar comes in 6 beautiful shades and are formulated with pure natural ingredients like wild pansy extract, nourishing shea butter, argan oil and hydrating plant-based squalene. I have the shade Love pictured above which is a pretty pop of pink.

Ingredients: ricinus communis (castor) seed oil, octyldodecanol, euphorbia cerifera (candelilla) wax, squalane, helianthus annuus (sunflower) seed wax, trihydroxystearin, hydrogenated jojoba oil, butyrospermum parkii (shea butter), hydrogenated castor oil, polyglyceryl-3 diisostearate, argania spinosa (argan) kernel oil, rhus verniciflua peel wax, rhus succedanea fruit wax, viola tricolor (wild pansy) extract, gardenia jasminoides meristem cell culture, tocopherol, helianthus annuus (sunflower) seed oil, glycerin, water, ascorbyl palmitate, mica, synthetic fluorphlogopite, aluminum calcium sodium silicate, citric acid, xanthan gum, tin oxide, butylene glycol. May contain +/- iron oxides, CI 77891, CI 15850, CI 45410, CI 42090.

mango lip honey

The mango lip honey comes in 4 shades and is made with mango seed butter and jojoba oil, but I was less thrilled that it contained synthetics. I know that there are safe synthetics and this is a common trend in the clean makeup industry, but I just prefer having natural and nutrient-rich ingredients that are alive with the earth’s energy.

I did like that the texture is a bit thicker and slightly stickier than the other creamy organic lip glosses that I use. The shade Pop is also such a vibrant fun pop of pink that brightens up my whole look.

Ingredients: Dimer dilinoleyl dimer, octyldodecyl stearoyl stearate, irvingia gabonensis (wild mango) kernel butter, simmondsia chinensis (jojoba) seed oil, tocopheryl acetate, hydrogenated coco-glycerides, aroma. May Contain +/- octyldodecanol, polyglyceryl-3 diisostearate, glyceryl behenate/eicosadioate, mica, pentaerythrityl tetraisostearate, tin oxide, diethylhexyl syringylidenemalonate, caprylic/capric triglyceride, calcium sodium borosilicate, iron oxides, CI 77891, CI 45410, CI 42090.

avocado waterproof mascara & natural almond mascara

The very reason I became interested in trying Ere Perez was because I had heard rave reviews about their mascara. As someone with stubby, barely there lashes I am all ears when I catch wind of some miracle working mascara product. It pains me to say this, but neither the natural almond nor the avocado waterproof mascara worked well for me. The formulas were quite dry and the product simply didn’t transfer onto my lashes like they should have. I STILL am perplexed by this everytime I try using it again. For many the Ere Perez mascara gives fabulous volume and length, but I couldn’t get it work for me.

australian blue cypress face nectar

The Australian Blue Cypress Face Nectar is a very lightweight, hydrating oil infused with Australian blue cypress, camellia, jasmine flower, jojoba, cedar wood & rice. It’s designed for deyhdrated or stressed skin and has a soothing jasmine, cedwarood and frankincense scent. I enjoyed using this oil during the summer, but switched to my richer oils during the fall and winter. This one sinks in and is absorbed by skin well, leaving it feeling softer and supple. I didn’t find myself totally obsessing over this oil though and it could have been something as superficial as the packaging being see through or the consistency being too lightweight.

Ingredients: Caprylic/capric triglyceride, vitis vinifera (grape) seed oil, oryza sativa (native rice) bran oil, simmondsia chinensis (jojoba) seed oil, camellia oleifera (camellia) seed oil, tocopherol (vitamin E), callitris intratropica (australian blue cypress) wood oil, cedrus atlantica (cedarwood) wood oil, jasminum sambac (jasmine) flower extract, boswellia carterii (frankincense) oil.
