Volition Beauty was created by Dr. Jacqueline Waters, a board-certified OBGYN who wanted to create real solutions for her patients that would help them feel confident in their skin. They’re a clean, vegan and cruelty free brand with most products ranging from $50-70. While focused on cleaner formulations, Volition Beauty does use some synthetics, including their naturally derived scents, and phenoxyethanol. I tried their new self-tanner product and am sharing my before after photos below.
Gradual Tan Firming Body Moisturizer
With summer around the corner you might be looking for clean sunless tanners (I’ve reviewed a few on the blog from Beauty By Earth and COOLA). Volition Beauty recently launched their self tanner called Getaway Glow Gradual Tan Firming Body Moisturizer which is supposed to be streak free and anti-orange (spoiler alert: it turned out orangey on my skin). This didn’t have any strange sunless tanner scent though their naturally derived fragrance is not 100% natural.
The self tanner got to work very fast and had already worked when I checked 1-2 hours later.
Before and After
I applied a thin layer and waited. The left is with the sunless tanner and just a few hours after I applied.
This was the next day. The color turned deeper and an bit orange after a full day.

Chocolate Macadamia Hydrating Mask
This is a dessert skincare treat for the skin and feels like I’m applying chocolate pudding to my face. I see this as a fun at-home spa session with the girls or hubby, complete with some bubbly and chocolate covered strawberries. It does feel hydrating but I don’t exactly notice any transformations either. Volition Beauty’s Chocolate Macadamia Hydrating Mask is a fun, feel-good product to indulge in, literally.
Skincare ingredients found in the mask:
- Hyaluronic Acid: Replenishes and helps improve moisture retention.
- Vegan Collagen: Visibly plumps and increases the appearance of firmness.
